1.1       What is a Local Meat Supply Chain?

Local meat supply chains include all the players that take meat from the farm through to the final consumer, including input suppliers, producers, processors, distributors and the market.


In addition to these core elements, the value chain includes other stakeholders such as:-

  • regulators,
  • trainers,
  • veterinarians,
  • waste management,
  • sectoral marketing bodies
  • advocacy organizations.
